The Hankook Tyre group, a family company based in Seoul, South Korea, is the seventh largest tyre company in the world . They have 2 massive tyre production facilities in Korea, one in Hungary and another two in China. Also, Hankook has an entire tyre complex in Korea devoted to tyre reseach, development of new products and quality control. Established in 1941 as the Chosun Tire Company, it was renamed Hankook Tire Manufacturing in 1968.
Hankook Tire’s worldwide reputation has largely grown due to its radial tyre and bias-ply tyre production. The company now supplies tyres as original equipment to the Hyundai Motor Company, Toyota Motor Corporation, Holden, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Ford Motor Company trucks, General Motors trucks, International Truck and Engine Corporation and others. In addition to producing about 50 million tyres per annum, the company also sells batteries, alloy wheels, and brake pads.
